I enjoy buying lovely old pictures like these in antique shops and locating descendants/family members so that I can re-unite the pictures, for only my costs, with people who will treasure them. The picture is 4-1/4" x 5-1/2", and on the back is handwritten only: "Jennie K. Layman". The picture is in excellent condition, and was taken by Ideal Portrait Co., Des Moines, Iowa in what I estimate to be about 1890. I estimate her to be about 20-25 yrs. old, and she has short dark hair and is carrying flowers close to her chest; in fact, this could be a wedding picture.
