In some of the transcribed Des Moines Co. Mortuary Books, 1880-1905, I have noted burial permit numbers listed with the information about the deceased. Can someone please tell me what information might be included in a burial permit issued 1885-1905? Were the permits issued by the county or cemetery? How would I obtains a copy of a permit?
