Born July 8, 1914, in Kingston, he was the son of Herbert H. anf Ada B. Brockway Rutter. On Sept. 23, 1946, he married Gilda Kerr in Burlington. Mr. Rutter was a retired farmer. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was of the Methodist faith. He was member of the American Legion of Mediapolis. Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Hillis Rutter of Mediapolis and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother and one sister. Visitation will be afternoon today in Lunning Chapel, where the family will recieve friends between 7 and 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Rutter will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Lunning Chapel, with Rev. Kris Crummer officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery, rural Mediapolis A memorial has been established to the Mediapolis Fire Department.
