She was born Oct. 6, 1907, in Des Moines.* She married Robert B. Mehaffy, Feb. 28, 1924, in Burlington. He died April 26, 1988. She was employed for 15 years as a clerk**for the Danville schools. She was a member of the Danville Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jean(Wilbur)Lucas, rural Montrose, Mrs. Sandy(Gregg) Richard, Elk Grove, IL, and Mrs. Meredith Schroeder, Mount Pleasant; one son, Rodney Mehaffy, Mount Pleasant; two sisters, Evelyn Mehaffy, and Velma Dearlove, both of West Burlington; 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the Elliot Chapel in New London. The service for Mrs. Mehaffy will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Elliot Chapel in New London with the Rev. Cavins officiating. Burial will be in the Long Creek Cemetery.
