Christian, age 18 and Henry, age 16 came to American in 1850 from Germany. They were Mennonites and were escaping being drafted into the army. Their mother, sister, stepsister, stepbrother, and stepfather had come to New York in 1846 and settled in the area of Lancaster and Alden in Erie County, New York. One sister and two stepsisters remained in Germany. In the 1980's I corresponded with John L. Yotter of Lockport. Was he your father? I would like to exchange information with you! Donna Meszaros
