Good Morning, I am new to this list. I am researching the following surnames in Des Moines county Iowa, all from the great city of Burlington: MCLANE Milton N. b Mar 14, 1861 in Kankakee Illinois and died Oct 31, 1943 in Burlington. He married CeCelia M. BROWN (BOURN), Nov 1, 1881 at Burlington. She was born Aug. 6, 1861 at Saranac New York and died Apr 2, 1935 at Burlington. He then married Selma HERTZLER Feb 15, 1938 at Burlington. She was their houskeeper for many years. All are buried in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Milton Mclane came to Burlington about 1879 and worked for the railroad. He later retired as a conductor on the CB&Q. Milton and Celia had 3 children: 1. Myrtle- b Sept. 25, 1882 Burlington and died Jan 1, 1963 at Burlington. She married LeRoy LAUER. No children from this marriage. They lived many years in Peoria Illinois and after LeRoy had passed away, she came back to live in Burlington. 2. Leah McLane- b Jan 16, 1888 Burlington and d Dec 22, 1971 Glendale CA. She married Delbert CATE on June 3, 1908 Burlington. They had two dau., one who was stillborn and the other still living. 3. George B. McLane b Feb 24, 1892 Burlington and d Oct 21, 1969 Burlington. He married 1. Ruby LANDHAUSER on Dec 26, 1916 Burlington. Ruby was born Nov 28, 1892 in Burlington and d Dec 20, 1917. She was the dau. of Theo and Mary STOCKMAN Landhauser. They had one son. Jack McLane born Dec 10 1917 and died Sept. 16 1994. George B. McLane married 2. Eva C. WILLIAMSON on Aug 4, 1919 at Ottumwa. She was born Mar 9, 1895 at Ottumwa and d Mar 28, 1979 at Burlington.
