Mehaffy was born Jan. 15, 1868, and had lived in the United States since he was a child. On Jan. 31, 1893 he was married to Minnie Ann Thompson, who survives, as do 4 children; Horace Mehaffy, Mediapolis; Orville Mehaffy, East Moline, Ill.; Mrs. Hazel Mecklenburg, Morning Sun, and Delbert Mehaffy, Arlington, Va. Two children died previously. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. William Swygard and Mrs. E.E. Caldwell, both of Mediapolis. Last rites will be held at the Sharon Reformed Presbyterian church at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. John Edgar will officiate and burial will be in the Sharon cemetery. The body is at Fry chapel in Mediapolis. *should be Monaghan County, Ireland
