I am not related to Mr. Ruble and have no further information. Thomas L 'Tom' Ruble, age 69, originally from Wapello and formerly of Winona, Minnisota, died Thursday afternoon, June 15, 2000 at his home at Mediapolis. The son of James Otto and Minnie Marie Ament Ruble, he was born August 21, 1930 at Wapello. He married Bonnie Irene Marlette on February 28, 1948 at Wapello. She died Feb 19, 1969. Later at Winona, Minnisota, he married Helen Anderson Huffman on January 20, 1972. She died May 18, 1996. Tom had initially worked at barker's at Wapello and then worked at Campbell Chain in Burlington and transferred to Peerless Chain in Winona until retiring in 1992. In his earlier years Tom enjoyed fishing and hunting. He enjoyed traveling and camping along with woodcrafting in his retirement. Survivors include two daughters, Linda and Michael Schulte of Mediapolis and Janet and Mike Calvin of Morning Sun; a step-daughter, Debbie Seman of LaCrescent, Minnisota; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two sisters, Catherine Ruble of Wapello and Sue Woods of Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives, Bonnie and Helen; two sisters, Lola and Bessie and three brothers, James, Robert and William. The funeral ceremony for Tom Ruble was held at 10:30 am Tuesday, June 20,2000 at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello. Burial followed at the Wapello Cemetery. Rev. Chris Thomas officiated and Kathleen Hagele provided the organ music. The casket bearers included Ronnie Adams, Bill Kracaw, Allen Timmerman, Jimmy Ruble Jr., Thomas Calvin and Cody Coey. Visitaion was Monday at the funeral home where the family met with friends from 7 to 8 pm. A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the Southeast Regional Dialysis Center at West Burlington.
