I am not related to Mr. Daedlow and have no further information regarding him. Aubrey Duane Daedlow, age 77, of Mediapolis, Iowa, died Saturday morning, October 14, 2000 at the Integrated Health Services of Mediapolis. The son of Rudolph and Irma Lee Daedlow, he was born September 29, 1923 at Muscatine, Iowa. He married Peggy Hutchcroft on June 18, 1944 at Muscatine. He was a graduate of Mediapolis High School, the University of Iowa and the Madison, Wisconsin School of Banking. He served in the US Navy during WWII as a turret gunner on a BP4Y, flying 52 missions in the South Pacific. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church at Mediapolis, and the American Legion at Mediapolis. He was a former member of the Masons. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and riding horses. Survivors include his wife, Peggy; a daughter, Dianne Appell of Mediapolis, two sons, Dennis Daedlow of Burlington and Alan Daedlow of Tipton, Iowa; seven grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and a brother, Gordon Daedlow of Eldridge, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Open visitation was Monday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis. The funeral ceremony for Aubrey Daedlow was held at 10 am Tuesday, October 17, 2000 at the First United Presbyterian Church at Mediapolis with the Rev. R. Dick Reynolds officiating. Junellen Chiprez provided the organ music with the congregation singing " I Know that My Redeemer LIves" and "My Hope is Built On Nothing Less". Burial followed at the Kossuth Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Post 243 of Medipolis. The casket bearers included Darren Daedlow, Ryan Daedlow, Nathan Daedlow, Scott Segebart, Mike Briggs and Tim Hutchcroft. Honorary bearers were Willis Despain, Charles Hutchcroft, Robert Heiens and Hick Thie. A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the First Presbyterian Church.
