I am hoping to coinnect with anyone having GRAHAMs or MARTINs from Burlington. The 1856 census lists a household composed of John and Giles Martin, in their 40s, Mary Martin, age 18, and John and Robert Graham, in their 20s (don't have the census in front of me). The Martins were born in Scotland and the Grahams in NY. I believe this Mary Martin was the one who married Thomas C. Clark in 1857 in Burlington. Their first son, Horace, was born in Burlington in 1858. Thomas C. Clark may have been a relative of James Clarke, third territorial governor of Iowa and founder/editor of the Burlington Gazette. Any information would be welcomed. Happy New Year to all, Barbara Archer
