    1. Creswell/Boal
    2. Judy Selby
    3. Hello - I'm trying to find information about my gr-gr grandmother - and her family who may have been in Des Moines County. Undocumented family history is that gr-gr grandfather, John Creswell died in Grandview, Louisa Co, March 1850. His wife Mary Agnes (Boal) Creswell died June 26 1850 while caring for her mother ??? Boal. Would there be any sort of "look-up" books available for Des Moines County that might verify my information? Also - I know nothing about the Boal family - any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you, Judy Selby Tacoma, WA

    1. OLD STONE CHURCH
    2. Linda Hurt
    3. I am looking for information on the Old Stone Church and West Liberty Cemetery. I understand that the church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is my understanding that my husband's great-great- grandfather, James Gilmore, built the church and is buried there along with his wife, Sarah. Hopeful for a connection, Linda in Missouri jjhandllh@email.msn.com

    1. Burlington Hardware Stores
    2. Elizabeth Richardson
    3. One family I am researching owned and operated a hardware store in Burlington in the first quarter of the 20th Century, and maybe beyond. I will be ordering the 1920 Census to find out more on this family, but would like to know what other resources might be available to me. Were there directories published during this period? Is there microfilm of the newspapers published during this period? Any other ideas? Elizabeth Richardson, Ketchikan, Alaska Proud Rootsweb Sponsor erich@ktn.net

    1. Rinner (Renner), Riepe, and Klein
    2. I am researching my Rinner family. I am trying to confirm if a Rinner/Renner family from Burlington is connected with my Rinner family. The mother of this Rinner family was widowed in Ohio about 1836 shortly after arriving from Germany. It is not known if the mother ever re-married. At some point in time, the mother made her way to Burlington, Iowa where she lived on a farm located near a Theobald Klein. This was about in the 1860's until about 1871. The mother appparently died in 1871. Her son, Peter Rinner, who had lived with the mother, then went to live in Clarke County. Peter Rinner was a veteran of the Mexican War and Civil War. There was also a daughter, Margaret, who married a H. J. Riepe. They remained in Burlington. Margaret Riepe died in 1917. I would like to hear from anyone who may be researching these family lines. Thank you. Jim.
