    3. Brenda, Perhaps Doty/Sidwell couple were married in the city of Des Moines, Iowa (which is in Polk County) rather than in Des Moines county. You might check Polk county, city of Des Moines, records also. I am not certain that the family lived there or if they simply married there. The family bible indicates both "of DesMoines." Is anyone else researching these names? I would like the address to a vital records office where I can obtain a photo copy of the original record. What is the fee? Is this indexed? Does anyone here have a copy of the index and would you be willing to do a look-up to tell me if they are found in the index? 2. Tina, Thanks for your offer of look-ups of the selected cemeteries. Would you happen to have a listing for Thomas GRAVES. He was born in England (date unknown - maybe around late 1820's) and died in 1858 (?) in Des Moines County. I appreciate you looking for me.... Julie Guiles JGuiles101@aol.com

    3. Dear Carolyn, I did not find WARE in these 4 books. In addition to sending a message to the list as I obtain each of the books, I am saving all the surnames for which I have received look-up requests and will automatically look for them as each book comes in. Good luck in your research :o) Tina > Hi Tina, > How nice of you! Would you see if there are any listed by the name of > WARE? 1. [IADESMOI] Cemetery look-up offer!
    2. Tina McGarry
    3. Hello! I have purchased Des Moines County Iowa Cemetery books for the following townships: Benton Huron Augusta Tama The information was compiled by the volunteers of the Des Moines County Genealogical Society and published by the Iowa Genealogical Society. I do not want to break copyright laws by posting copious amounts of information from the books onto the mailing list. If you would like a look-up, please use subject "cemetery lookup" when making a request and I will email any information I find to you privately. The books are indexed, so I can look in all of them quite easily. Be sure to include alternate surname spellings if you think it might make a difference. The following cemeteries are contained in each book: Benton Township Bazel, Dravis, Freitas/Friday, Kingston, Latty, Pegtown, St. Mary's Catholic, Hinson Family Plot, Neberry/Haight Plot, North Walker, Walker Farm. St. John's Lutheran is listed, but I have conflicting information that it is really St. Paul's Lutheran. Huron Township Driskell Farm, Dolbee, Hawkeye (S-E), Hukill Farm, Huron Island, Memorial (N-E) or Apostolic Christian, Swedish (Swede) Lutheran Church Augusta Township Lee Burial Plot, Augusta, Old Geode Park Tama Township Criner or Waldin Farm Plot, Meyers Farm, Wykert These are the only township books that I have at this time. I plan to purchase them until I have all 16 :o) Sincerely, Tina McCain-McGarry List Admin

    3. Hello I saw your post and noticed the name Haight also on it. Is this one of you lines from Des Moines Co also? I have a Haight line from there and have contact with a number of people researching this name. The majority descend from Cornelius Haight. My Haight line was from Philip Haight's daughter Eunice who married John Curtis Nott. Any connections? 1. [IADESMOI] Evangelical churches
    2. Tina McGarry
    3. Good afternoon, While researching my Drebenstedt ancestors, I've come across the following German Evangelical churches in the Burlington area: 1. St John's (est. 1852) - appears to be north of Burlington near Kingston 2. Zion of Latty (1853) - Latty 3. Zion in Burlington (1864) - downtown, 4. St Luke's (1877) - South and 14th Street, 5. St. Paul's (1885) - West Burlington 6. First (by 1850's) - downtown, one block from Zion in Burlington Zion in Burlington, St Luke's and First all became United Church of Christ (UCC) churches and are presently active congregations. Zion UCC and First UCC have had their old records microfilmed and these can be ordered through the Family History Libraries. Although not microfilmed, the St Luke's records have been transcribed and they will answer requests. Does anyone know the location of the records to St. John's, Zion of Latty and St Paul's? If you can offer more informaiton about the above churches for the list, please post. Sincerely, Tina McCain-McGarry list admin

The airport is being expanded and they are going to move the CEMETERY. Is there a way to get this message to as many listers as possible in a short amount of time? Can you help!
