    3. Dear Gordon, fellow Des Moines, IA listers, I understand your concern. Most of us belong to more than a few lists and we certainly don't need spam. Indeed it is inappropriate for a business to post commercial advertising on our list. Rootsweb scans for such posts and 99% of the time they never make it through. There are times, however, when I don't mind hearing about an online genealogy source from a fellow lister, especially if it's a book store. That said, I want to make it clear that the main purpose of our list is to exchange genealogy information concerning our family research in Des Moines County, Iowa. Thanks for your cooperation. She married Martin Ryerson on June 17, 1885 (we believe in Burlington). She had her first child, Edna A. Ryerson, in Burlington. Our estimate is that Edna was born less than a year after her mother was married. The next we know, she moved to Warwick NY in 1899. Her father was C. Peck. He was born about 1811 in Massachusetts. He married Emily (maiden name unknown) about 1834, probably in Kentucky. He moved with his family to Iowa in 1850. Emily was born about 1815 in Kentucky. Besides Elizabeth, their children were: James A. Peck, born about 1835 in Kentucky. C. Peck (male) born about 1855 in Iowa. Also in this household in 1856 were: Frank Peck, born about 1837 in Iowa Ann Thompson, born about 1847 in Sweden Mary Ann T. Lana, born about 1804 in Maryland I would be most grateful for any information regarding Martin or Elizabeth or any of their relatives. I am particularly interested in finding the parents of Martin. 1. [IADESMOI] Doty and Sidwell in Des Moines
    2. Hello, I am researching the surnames Charles Thomas Sidwell and Cora Lea Doty m 30 Dec 1896 in Des Moines. I am not certain that the family lived there or if they simply married there. The family bible indicates both "of DesMoines." Is anyone else researching these names? I would like the address to a vital records office where I can obtain a photo copy of the original record. What is the fee? Is this indexed? Does anyone here have a copy of the index and would you be willing to do a look-up to tell me if they are found in the index? Brenda Sears Berrien County, Michigan
