Daughter (Only one on Census) was Julia Ann, born Brooklyn NYC 1860.
In some of the transcribed Des Moines Co. Mortuary Books, 1880-1905, I have noted burial permit numbers listed with the information about the deceased. Can someone please tell me what information might be included in a burial permit issued 1885-1905? Were the permits issued by the county or cemetery? How would I obtains a copy of a permit? Thank you. Susan
I've just revised and updated my webpage having to do with a 1953 wagon train from Henry Co., IA to Oregon. Most of the people on the wagon train were likely residents of Henry or Des Moines counties at that time. I've added more info on known or suspected members of the party, and I've added two accounts of the trip by one of the travelers. If you can help me further identify any of the people on this train, or if you have any questions, please e-mail. Sandy Wilbur 1853 Wagon Train: http://www.netcom.com/~symbios/asatrn.html
