Mrs. G.B. Price is having her residence property at Church and Seventh streets repainted. Claude Stiles is doing the work. Willis Aten of Omaha formerly of this county, came yesterday to visit relatives and friends both in this vicinity and at Garden Grove. Mrs. audrey Elmore returned Wednesday of last week from Boston where she had gone to be with her husband WT 2/3 Olin Elmore who was temporarily stationed there. Bert West of Van Wert returned to his home Monday after a visit with his sister, Mrs Herman Teidje and family of Des Moines. he also visited his niece, Mrs. Rober Kack, of Johnston, Iowa. Miss Joyce woods returned to Leon Friday evening from Des Moines where she had been in training as a cadet nurse. Miss woods has received a medical discharge and plans to be in Leon with her mother, Mrs. Ilean Woods for the present. Mrs. Mansell Tallman son Robert and daughter Miss Mary Lo departed Saturday for Salina, Kansas, where they will now make their home. Mr. Tallman has been there for sometime and was able finally to obtain a house.. Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Reed of Leon attended the funeral services Sunday of Mrs. Tessie Sax at Bloomfield. Mrs. Reed was a friend of Mrs. Sax. Mrs. Sax died Thursday night in Kansas City, Missouri. Mrs. Reed Formerly lived at Bloomfield. J.B. Marquis of Decatur was in Leon last Friday afternoon visiting friends and looking after some business matters. He reports finding some timothy on his place that measured 76 inches. Much timothy over the county has grown to great heights this year owing to the large amount of moisture resulting from frequent rains. Card of Thanks I wish to express by most sincere thanks and appreciation to the many friends who remembered me with a card shower. It was a lovely experience.
