    2. found in grandmother West's scrapbook Barry West (related to Hacker and Fierce) Weldon July 16-Those who spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hacker and family were Mr. and Mrs. Don Hacker, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Fierce and son, Mr. and Mrs. John Hacker and daughter Virginia, Peggy, Jean and Glen Hein. The dinner was in honor of Clark Fierce aged five years, and Denise Hacker age nine years. Those visiting Mr. and Mrs. Warren Ryan Sunday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ryan and family and Miss Virginia Richman, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd O. Quinn, of West Des Moines. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ryan. Jerry, Barbara and Lucille Ryan who have been spending the week end with grandparents, returned home Sunday evening. Sunday, July 15th being Mrs. Cleve McWilliams' Birthday, the following were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ellis and family of Weldon: Mr. and Mrs. Mart Moore and family, Mr. and Mrs. Doris Scadden and family, Mrs. Joe McNichols and family, all of Murray, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. Cleve McWilliams, of Weldon. The other children and their families were unable to be present. All departed in the evening wishing "Mother" many more happy returns of the day. Irvin and Jerry McNichols, of Murray are visiting their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cleve McWilliams. Miss Peggy Blohm and Miss Merriam Neal of Dexter are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Blohm. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Reed, of Leon spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Blohm. Cpl. and Mrs. Lloyd Reynard, of Osceola took dinner with George Hutchings and family Friday. S 1/c John Randall, who has been overseas a year, is enjoying a thirty day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Randall and family. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lowe and Patricia, of Des Moines spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Levi Luce. Keith Randall and wife of Portland, Oregon came Saturday to visit his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Carl LaFollette of Des Moines came Sunday, bringing Mrs. James Worden and Judy home after a visit with visit. Mr. and Mrs. John Neal, of Derby visited Sunday with their son, Roy Neal and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Schecter and son, of Humeston spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Quayle of Des Moines also Miss Pauline McVey and Lew McVey of Corydon. Mrs. McVey is in the hospital at Iowa City. Mr. and Mrs. lyman Liggett visited Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. will Simmermon of Van Wert. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Byerley and family, of Boone are here visiting and on business. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ellis and Mrs. Pearl Mc Williams were Osceola callers Friday morning. Mrs. James Worden and Judy spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl LaFollette, of Des Moines. The Christian ladies met at the home of Mrs. Jesse O'Hair last week. There was a good attendance and a nice time reported. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Patterson, Mrs. Ryan, Mrs. Lockwood and Mrs. Meacham were Osceola callers Wednesday. John West spent the week end in Des Moines and returned here Thursday. Mrs. Bert Keeler, of Osceola was in town Saturday evening and called on Mrs. Hodges. Miss Cecila Fuffum, of LaRoy spent Saturday with her sister, Miss Josephine Coffey. A very large and appreciative crowd attended the Twilight Horse Racing at Johnny Wallace's farm last week. It certainly was very nice and much enjoyed by everyone present. Most ereryone from here and surrounding territory and some from Des Moines, Indianola, Osceola, leon and Van Wert. It was quite an event. The Junior class will have charge of the worship services Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Christian church. Several special numbers are planned. Everyone invited.
