Repairs the next day permitted the continuation of the engagement. The committee in securing signatures to petition asking that the board of supervisors call a special election for the purpose of voting upon the County Hospital proposition, has met with a fine reception in all parts of the county. Ralph, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Tansey, formerly of Leon, but now residing in Des Moines, passed away in that city last Friday Morning. The large printing plant of the Latter Day Saints Church is to be moved from Lamoni to Independence, Mo., in the very near future. The church offices now housed in the printing plant building will also be move to Independence. Mr. and Mrs. P. B. walker of St. Joseph, formerly of Leon, announce the marriage of their daughter Mildred to Charles W. Wright, Jr., on Wednesday, July 3rd. Fred Townsend. secretary of the Decatur County Fair, says the premium lists will soon be out. Attractions have been contracted for the big fair including the Thearle-Duffield fireworks for the night show. Lew Gillham has bought the old Waller property in northwest Leon and is having the building entirely remodeled. Lyman Shira and family, formerly residents of Leon, are up among the tall pines of Yellowstone Park for the summer where they will remain while Lyman is on his present run on the Oregon Short Line. John Ledgerwood, formerly of Leon but now farming near Weldon, was down last Saturday visiting with friends in Leon. Last Saturday was Vogt Bowsher's eleventh birthday and he was host to a party of his young friends at Linger Longer. Dr. Harry Forgraves and family of St. Joseph were in Leon Monday on their way in their car to Wisconsin where they will remain in the resort region for the balance of the summer. Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Price moved into their new home yesterday. It is a most attractive residence..
