Is there anyone who would attempt to find for me in 1873 a newspaper clipping regarding an accident which took the life of Francis McGovern. I have always been told that he died in an accident, and given the fact that he was only 50 years old at the time of his death, this seems likely. Francis is buried in the Catholic Cemetery, Woodland Township, Decatur County, Iowa. He was survived by his wife, Anna Mary McGovern, a son, Francis Henry McGovern, and daughters, Catherine Elizabeth McGovern and Margaret Anna McGovern.
