found in grandmother West's scrapbook Barry West Brother of Leon Lady Died In Kansas City Mitchell Welling, 63, of 5050 Oak, Kansas City, Mo., known as "Mitch" to his friends in Leon, died last Thursday at St. Luke's Hospital where he had been a patient three weeks. Mr. Welling suffered with a heart ailment. He was born in Maryville, Mo., and moved to Kansas City in 1929. The last 28 years he had been employed in the office of the Phillips Petroleum Company refinery in the Fairfax district in Kansas City, Kans. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the Sanford Brown, Jr., Post of the American Legion, a member of the Second Presbyterian church, the Ivanhoe Masonic lodge, the Scottish Rite and Ararat Shrine. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Viola welling; a sister, Mrs. Alice Scott, of Leon; and a brother, G. L. Welling ; and his mother, Mrs. Alice Welling, of Maryville. Interment was made at Maryville at 2:00 p. m., Saturday. Dr and Mrs. C. D. Scott of Leon attended the services.
