Leon journal-Reporter March 18, 1943 Found in grandmother West's Scrapbook Barry West Bullet Broke glass in Both Doors of Fred Lysinger car Friday Night A stray bullet barely missed Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lysinger of Lamoni in the south part of that city on Highway 69 Sunday at 9:00 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Lysinger were riding in their car enroute north toward their home when a bullet entered through the right hand glass within six inches of Mr. Lysinger head and went through the glass of the left door, also just missing Mrs. Lysinger's head. Glass was shattered for both doors in their laps. Although Deputy Sheriff John A. Fulton investigated the mysterious shot, so far, it has not been learned whether the bullet was fired from a gun in the hands of a boy, or whether is was of accidentally by an adult.
