Leon Reporter, Leon, Iowa Thursday, May l5, l924 A Pleasant Mother's Day Suprise Sunday being Mother's Day, MRS. EARL WISE planned a surprise on her mother, MRS. ED MCGAUHEY, of Decatur, by inviting friends and relatives to the number of thirty-seven, who came with well-filled baskets, all going in a body to her home and giving her a complete surprise. At noon, a big table was spread in the yard with all good things to eat, which may be found on these events, to which all did ample justice. The day was spent in visiting, plenty of music being in prominence. All left at the late hour, wishing MRS. MCGAUHEY many more happy Mother's Days. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wise and son, Lyle, of Decatur; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Thompson and children, of Van Wert; Mr. and Mrs. Lew Payton and baby, of Kellerton; Mr. and Mrs. Bert McGaughey and family, of Leon; Mr. and Mrs. Oliver McGauhey and family, of Lamoni; Golden Raymond and Ancel McGauhey; Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Smith and brother, John, of Davis City; Chas. Norman of Chicago; Mrs. Davis and daughter, Mrs. Rush, of Van Wert; and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Wise and sons, Leighton and Max, of Lamoni.
