Picture of Mary Geraldine Ruth Mary Geraldine Ruth, daughter of William Frank Routh and Goldie Eva McVey Routh, was born May 5, 1924 near Weldon and departed this life on March 19, 2005 at her home. in Osceola at the age of 80. Mary attended Redwing Country School in Woodburn and Fairview Country School in Weldon. She was united in marriage to Walter Arden Ruth on June 2, 1940 in Osceola. She had lived in Osceola for the past 20 years but had also lived in Weldon, Woodburn, LeRoy and Ottawa. Mary was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Osceola. Mary was a housewife and mother. She was employed at Furnas Electric and retired in 1992. Spending time with her family was very important to her, and she enjoyed going to all the activities of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her flower garden, rock hunting, ceramics, sewing and her pets. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband Walter in 1975; sons, Donald, Dennis and infant son, Jerry Ruth; daughter, Dianne Ruth; brothers, Kenneth, Russell, Larry and Chester Routh. She is survived by son, Ronald Ruth and wife Sharon of Des Moines; daughter, Janice Deemer and husband Ivin of Lucas; daughter, Carol Ruble and husband Bill of Osceola; son, Bill Ruth and wife Kathie of Altoona; daughter, Linda Hamilton and husband Frank of Osceola; daughter, Donna Hines and husband JR of Grinnell; son, Steven Ruth of Weldon; son, Randy Ruth and wife Pat of Geneva, MN; son, Scott Ruth and wife Becky of Sahurita, AZ; daughter, Mary Burkeimer and husband Dennis of Osceola; son, Terry Ruth of Weldon; daughter-in-law, Carol Ruth of Des Moines; 31 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren; sisters, Merna Ruth and husband Leslie of Lucas and Shirley Richards and husband Melvin of Liberty Center; brothers, Lowell Routh and wife Donna of Des Moines, Donald Routh and wife Clementine of Des Moines, Maurice Routh and wife Arydis of Des Moines, Darrell Routh and wife Joann of Seattle, WA; other relatives and friends.
