I wish to thank all those who responded to my query of July 6th, when I inquired about the Davis City coal mine(s), mentioned in "Grandma West's Scrapbook." I have browsed thru Himena Hoffman's county history, and that didn't help much. However, all is not lost, yet. Now, I will seek information from geological sources.
