Miss Mildred Wagner spent a few days recently in the home of her sister, Mr. and Mrs. James Arnold at Ames. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Foland of Grand River spent Sunday with Mrs. Viola Miller. Pfc. Wilbur Chaney will leave Tuesday for his camp at Hot Springs, Arkansas. Frank Stevens and his grandson, Steven McGuire, returned recently from a trip to Arkansas where they visited relatives and friends. The Leon and Garden Grove ball teams played two games at the Leon field Sunday. Each town returned with one victory. Mrs. Carl Morgan and her son, Sgt. Bill Morgan, spent the week end in the Melvin Jones home in Omaha. Three Boy Scouts from here were taken to Camp Wapello by Dr. Leo Boyce Sunday. Those going were Wendell Jones, Steven McGuire and Gerald Storie of Derby. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Grim, of Lineville were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kentner Sunday.
