RU on vacation? Well, that's a toughie. Each morning Brownie 'n I get up and ask each other what day it is. Sometimes we argue - is it Tuesday or Wednesday? But I know when it's Sunday because that day the funnies are colored. That marks a week. The weather here is Georgia weather. We haven't had but one day over 90 degrees but the humidity just about matches it. Ninety everything. Yes, I remember the hot weather in the mid thirties. We had a grasshopper attack in, I think, '36 and I volunteered to go battle them. I had a shovel and I just smashed and smased - I expect I killed hundreds of thousands - along with a lot of adults. We slept outdoors and on one occasion the temperature didn't drop much below a hundred for several "nights." Didn't know Robert McMorris but John McMorris was in our class of '43. I hate to hear of a gifted writer leaving us. Of course, their words stick for a while but then even they sort of disappear. Hope everyone is thriving this summer ... jack
