found in grandmother West's scrapbook Barry West Obit Burton M., second son of a family of nine children of W. A. and Sarah E. Hughes, was born near Clio, Iowa, November 30, 1878 and passed away at his home July 5, 1945 at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 5 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers. On December 20, 1905 he was united in marriage to Myrtle Heaton, of Lineville, Iowa. He united with the Church of God during a meeting at Clio in the fall of 1942. He taught in the rural schools of Wayne county for a number of years. After giving up school teaching he continued farming and stock raising until his health failed. He and his wife traveled quite extensively as he enjoyed seeing different parts of the country and sbserving the customs of the people. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife and one sister, Mrs. Ella Eierdamz, of King City, Missouri and three brothers, Gilbert and Grover of Clio; and Milt, of Kansas City, Mo., other relatives and a host of friends.
