from grandmother West's scrapbook Barry West non-dated from newspaper clipping Garbage Pick-up Service is now available in Leon Bob Adair begain his new work Aug. 1-Daily service for Business Houses; Twice a Week for Residences Bob Adair began a garbage pickup service in Leon August 1 which has solved the garbage disposal problem here for many. Mr. Adair recently purchased a truck and secured 90 acres of land southeast of Leon where he is feeding the garbage to hogs. He is also picking up trash, including tin cans and ashes. the trash is placed in separate containers. Mr. Adair is filling up ditches with the cans and trash. The pick-up service is daily for business houses and twice weekly for the residences of Leon. Many people have been unable to have their garbage and trash picked up. the new pickup service will further the work of the public health officers in keeping Leon clean to prevent diseases, particularly during the season when polio spreads throughout the country. All garbage should be place in covered retainers and kept away from flies and other insect which spread diseases.
