    3. The barber shop was beneath the bus depot. One of the two barbers was Harold Spencer; believe the other barber was Payton Hull. The bus depot took up much of the first floor of the hotel. The hotel entrance was on SW corner. During WWII, one could drink coffee for 5c at the bus depot, and many did because coffee was hard to come by. The windows that allowed looking through the grates were eventually painted over. (So I was told -LOL). The Creamery was Larson's Creamery (G. B. Larson). Over the years, that block housed "Rippey's, HYVEE, a radio and later TV repair shop, a floral shop and others that I cannot recollect. If someone does have photos of that block, I too would like to obtain copies; plus, a photo of the bakery shop that was located directly South of Stewart's Furniture (Last owner was Leo Monday ? I think. Later, it became the ISU office. There was a huge grate you walked across and the "gentlemen" could really get an eye full if you didn't know the shop was down there. I remember we always walked around it. LOL My Mother was very proper and would never allow that!
