from grandmother West's scrapbook Barry West George Allen Dies in Colorado Frank Allen of Lamoni received a message Tuesday stating that his brother, George Allen, had passed away that morning at Greeley, Colo. Burial followed at Greeley. He was born at Garden Grove in this county February 13, 1874. In 1879 he came to Leon with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Allen. He had lived in Colorado for the past twenty years. He is survived by three children, three boys and one girl. His wife passed away twenty-three years ago. ________________________________________________________________ Dr. W. C. Boone Very Ill Dr. W. C. Boone, formerly of Leon, is reported as critically ill at his home in Ottumwa with double pneumonia. He is a member of the Iowa Conservation commission. Dr. Boone has practiced dentistry in Ottumwa for many years. ______________________________________________________________ Well Known Corydon Attorney Dead Attorney Harley Bracewell, well known to many Decatur county people, died suddenly at his home in Corydon last Sunday. Funeral services will be held at Corydon today. ________________________________________________________________ Mrs. Akers Operated Upon Mrs. Elmer Akers was brought from her home in Decatur Friday evening in the Stewart ambulance to the Decatur county hospital where she was operated upon for appendicitis. ______________________________________________________________ Taken Home From Hospital Mrs. Casey Smith and little son were removed to their home Friday from the Decatur county hospital in the Stewart ambulance.
