I noticed that no one "noticed" that a comment was made earlier on about FEMA and that those in New Orleans could take care of themselves and not burden the Iowa taxpayers. I knew eventually there would be those of us to be affected by it. Right now sensitivity and prayers are extremely needed. Nothing that Sherry said implicated that she was pointing the finger at our displaced citizens from Katrina. We don't have to have a disaster for money to be spent in this country like it grows on trees. What is sad is that our country doesn't accept assistance from other countries with much less to give but are willing to help in whatever ways that they can. Ok, I've said my peace.... I can only assume that he was not a recipient of previous recommendations to IGNORE those posts that described the subject as "Off Topic", especially IF there was any possibility that the reader might be incensed by the content. I have re-read my contribution and though I cannot immediately support that it is entirely factual, can support that it was not an "insensitive" piece of "garbage" and was most certainly NOT an attack on the victims of Katrina. WHEREVER and for WHATEVER the "billions" goes can be debated elsewhere, but for a perspective on WHAT a billion is, I thought this was insightful.
