Decatur County Journal Leon, Iowa Thursday, March 7, 1912 On last Wednesday afternoon at one-thirty occurred the marriage of LESTER GARDNER and Miss LELA SANGER, both of this city. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J.S. Coffin, Pastor of the Christian Church, at his home on Church Street. Mr. GARDNER is the son of Mr. And Mrs. WILL GARDNER, of Leon. He is a splendid young man, being characterized by good habits and industry. Miss SANGER is the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. GEORGE W. SANGER, who live just a short distance northeast of Leon. She is a charming and accomplished young lady and will make for her husband a worthy and fitting companion. Both of these young people are not only well known here, but are favorites among the young people. The wedding came as somewhat of a surprise as they had kept the secret well guarded. They left on the afternoon train for Shenandoah where the bride has a sister, and where they will visit for some time. Their many friends here wish them a long and prosperous life. ---------------------------------------------------------- Copied by Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert December 19, 2009 [email protected]
