Decatur County Journal Leon, Iowa Thursday, March 28, 1912 WILLIAM HARRISON PAINTER was born at Monticello, Platt County, Illinois, March 12, 1855, and died at Leon, Decatur County, Iowa, March 18, 1912, being 57 years and 6 days old. He was united in marriage on December 23, 1879, at Argenta, Illinois, to SOPHRONIA E. MADDEN, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. J.N. MADDEN. To this union were born seven children as follows: MERBEL M., MARY M., CHARLES C., Mrs. ALVIN A. ARNEY, FRED F., VERNON V., and LESTER L., all of whom were at home at the time of his death excepting Mrs. ARNEY. He united with the M.E. Church at Argenta, Illinois, in 1884. There is left to mourn his death besides the family, his three younger brothers as follows: C.E. PAINTER, Decatur, Illinois; GEO M. PAINTER, St. Louis, Mo., and J.H. PAINTER, Detroit Michigan, who were present at the funeral. Mr. PAINTER was a member of the following orders: I.O.O.F.
