I have not tried the fruitcake recipes but oodles of the other ones. Because they are submitted by actual people like us, that is home cooks, the recipes are very dependable and the ingredients available to most. I love fruitcake, but my mother-in-law did not leave me the recipe! In fact, after one of the teenagers sneaked the rum and replaced the part empty bottle with water making all of her fruitcakes mold, she never made them again. Nobody told, but the teen finally fessed up when she got a little older. It makes a good family memory--esp. since that sister-in-law won't touch a drop of rum to this day! Merry Christmas.
