AARON CORNETT CORNETT, EATON, CARTER, BRAUNNUM, DUNN, BEAMAN, PRINE, CAYWOOD, COOPER, BELLOWS, GORE Posted By: Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert <[email protected]> Date: 8/12/2002 at 18:53:06 Leon Reporter, Leon, Iowa Thursday, July 5, l923 AARON CORNETT was born January l, l86l, near Davis City, Decatur County, Iowa, and was the son of A.D. And MARTHA CORNETT. He grew to manhood in that vicinity and in the year l88l, was united in marriage to MISS CORA EATON, and to this union two children were born, the second child dying in infancy and the mother soon afterward, the other dying a few years later. MR. CORNETT then moved to Nebraska (*can't read) four years, returning to Davis City. In l888, he was again united in marriage to MISS ROSA CARTER, and resided on a farm near Davis City, Lamoni and Pleasanton, Iowa, until l9l4, when the family moved to Albany, Mo. To this union were born eight children; MAUDE, who died when 7 years old; MRS. E.M. BRAUNNUM, of Sac City; MRS. M.O. DUNN, of Trenton, Mo.; MRS. MYRTLE BEAMAN, of Lamoni; WILLIS CORNETT, of St. Joseph, Mo.; MRS. HOWARD PRINE, of Shannon City; EDRIE and ELNO at home, and these children with their mother, survive. He is also survived by three brothers; NATHANIEL CORNETT, of Pawnee, Okla.; WILLIS CORNETT, of Milford, Mo.; SHERMAN CORNETT, of Crowley, La. Four sisters: MRS. JOHN CAYWOOD, of Ellston; MRS. GEO. COOPER, of Olathe, Kansas; MRS. JOHN BELLOWS, of Kansas City, Mo.; MRS. CHAS. GORE, of Milford, Mo. MR. CORNETT had been in failing health for about a year, suffering from cancer, from which disease he passed away on Friday, June l5, at the age of 62 years, 5 months and l5 days. MR. CORNETT was converted to the Apostolic Faith at Pleasanton, Iowa, about l0 years ago and ever strived to fulfill his full duty to his family and neighbors. He was patient and uncomplaining during his last illness, bearing his suffering with fortitude and courage. He was a kind man to his family, just to his neighbors and loyal to his friends. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June l7, at the Methodist Church in Ellston by Rev. Alta Nichols.
