I've looked at this article and the spelling of B.R. "WATCHBAUGH" -- and I can't think but that this is a misspelling of WATSEBAUGH... Anyway, I'll copy it and if you have the 'correct' info. WATCHBAUGH, the well known Leon auctioneer, as announced in the Journal last week has accepted a position as instructor in the Kansas City Commercial College, auctioneering department. Colonel WATCHBAUGH will be principal of that department of the school that will teach the auctioneering business. He will have three and perhaps four assistants, all of whom will be capable and experienced auctioneers. The Kansas City Commercial College is just opening this new branch in addition to their regular commercial courses and a large number of students have already enrolled for the auctioneering course. Colonel WATCHBAUGH is a capable auctioneer and a hustling business man. During the time that he has resided in Leon himself and wife have made many warm friends. All are sorry to see them leave. It could be that Watsebaugh was pronounced with a soft 'a' and that could be the reason for the different spelling?
