Richard: Thank you for the prompt reply RE. the Adair family. Jesse Franklin Adair died 14 April 1931 at Galena, Jasper County, Missouri. His death certificate is No. 14591 and is on-line at the Missouri Archives website. Louisa (Kendall) Adair's Death Cert. is also available at the same web site (No. 9144). Louisa died 11Mar 1930. Both are buried just across the MO. state line in Kansas. I found five children of Jesse and Louisa: James S. b 22 September 1876; d. 19 July 1948 (Jasper Co., MO.); Harry W., b. 19 Feb 1878, d. 5 March 1952 (Jasper Co., MO.); Luther b. 14 May 1884, d. Jasper Co., MO.; Martha, b. abt 1890 (Iowa); Phylander, b. abt 1897, not sure where. Jesse and Louisa were married at Garden Grove, Decatur County, Iowa on 30 Sept 1875 per the Decatur county Iowa marriage records. It appears the family was in Decatur County until sometime in the 1890's after which they moved to Jasper County, Missouri, near Zincite (Now Bellville I believe). They lived there for about years: i.e. the rest of their lives. Finally, in case you are interested, Louisa was the daughter of James S. & Elizabeth Ammermon Kendall. She was born in Indiana. There is a biography of James Samuel Kendall, father of Louisa on this Decatur County Website. If there are any photographs of Jesse & Louisa Adair extant, I would like to have a copy. Most likely they would be in Missouri I would think.
