    3. I will be visiting Clarke, Decatur, and Ringgold Counties over the Memorial Day weekend to visit cemeteries. I have been there before, and there are tombstones I am not able to find. Perhaps someone on this list who is familiar with the cemeteries can help me by telling me where in the cemetery I should look for the stone. In the Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, I want to find the stone of Farild and Donna Glazebrook. In the Leon Cemetery, I want to find the stones of Henry & Mariah C Quiett. In the Murray Cemetery, I want to find stones for Keith Glazebrook, and William P & Doris Glazebrook. I found an index that said what row they should be in, but was never able to locate them on my last trip. In the Grand River Cemetery, I want to find Mansel and Sylvia Brammer. It is said to be a flat stone. Can anyone help me with the location of any of these tombstones? Thanks very much! _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail has tools for the New Busy. 3. Sarah, In 1996 & 1997 the Clarke County Genealogical Society canvassed every cemetery in the county, and are published in 2 books, which I believe you can still get from the society. The books have maps of every cemetery showing how the sections are divided, and named or numbered, as well as driving directions to each. Row numbering starts on the west side of the cemetery (or section) and moves east, and the stone numbering starts on the north and runs to the south. therefore in any given section stone therefore stone 01-01 will always be in the north west corner of the cemetery or section. Keep in mind, new burials my have happened in the rows, & thereby throw off the stone count, but the following should get you in the right area. You may find the books in the genealogy room in the basement of the Osceola Library. Diane Shough, the children's librarian (I'm not sure of her hours but I think she still has Friday's off) is one of the founding members of the genealogical society, and if she's there she can show you where to find the books. If you go to the library on a weekday be sure to go before school lets out, as it gets quite busy. In the Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, > Farild and Donna Glazebrook: Section 4, Row 26, Stone 17. In the Murray Cemetery: > Keith Glazebrook: Section 3, Row 12, Stone 12 > William P & Doris Glazebrook: Section 2, Row 49, Stone 42 Hope this helps, Jim www.civilwarnotebook.blogspot.com
