The Journal Leon, Iowa August 30, 1883 DIED -- At his home in High Point township, Saturday, August 25, 1883, with bilious colic, Mr. O.C. BRANT. Deceased was taken sick Saturday morning and died in the evening between 9 and 10 o'clock. He was in his usual health on Friday, and went to Allerton and returned. He was 58 years old, and had lived in Decatur County 29 years He came from Ohio in 1854 with Uncle HUGH BROWN. In 1857 he married Miss MARIA MILLER, who with five children survives him. He has held many official positions in High Point Township, and was highly respected by all who knew him, as an honest, upright and industrious man and good citizen.
