    1. [IADECATU] JONATHAN CREEK, Dec. 24, 1883

    3. The Journal Leon, Iowa December 27, 1883 J.W. ELSEY, of Harrison County, Mo., is stopping in this vicinity. The infant child of Mr. BROCETT, of Garden Grove, was interred at the Jonathan Creek Cemetery yesterday. Mr. TRULLINGER is slowly recovering from his severe stroke of paralysis. Miss JANE THARP is home spending a week's vacation. The sudden departure of Bro. HOGE was a surprise to many, but it is hoped that his health will soon permit his return. T.J. SILVERS has been employed by Peter Doze & Co., dealers in agricultural implements, Mt. Ayr, Iowa. TOM is one of our most enterprising young men, and no doubt will be very successful in his undertaking. J.L. PHIPPS talks of spending the holidays with relatives in Ringgold. Our nimrods are having a match hunt today to decide who shall pay the expense of a holiday feast. H.M. OWEN is giving his pupils a vacation during the holidays, while he is spending the time with his family residing in Clarke County. Mr. OWEN is the most successful teacher of which we have had the honor to be a subject, and our fellow workers will be glad to see him with us once more. We smell wedding cake. A young couple living on Jonathan Creek being tired of "single blessedness," propose traveling the remainder of life's journey in "double harness." New Year's day is the time appointed for the happy event. ------------------------------------------------------------- Copied by Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert January 7, 2010 [email protected] I'm curious about where the JONATHAN CREEK CEMETERY was.. Anybody know?
