    3. Shirley, I am not related to John. He was a nice old man who lived acrossthe corner from my Grandmother. He ran a Blacksmith shop in Van Wert. When I was boy and saw him on his porch or at his shop, he would always shake my hand. He had strong, rough hands from his hard work.He had a Daughter, Darlene. Larry L. 3. Now this is pretty exciting! 'My' John was indeed a blacksmith although I'm not sure where his shop was. He had three children...Ralph B., Doris M. and Dortha. Dortha was b. abt. 1921 so I wonder if that's the Darlene you mention. In 1900 and 1910 he lived in Franklin, in 1920 Green Bay and in 1930 Long Creek. Did your grandmother live in Long Creek? How far would that have been from Van Wert? Surely this must be the same John and I'm thrilled to know a bit about him.
