    3. Hi Rick, A little background: My grandmother Agnes Harp Rogers, Esther's sister died when Mother was 3 in 1918 we had very little info on the Harps. Some info came from stories told by my Aunts and helped us track some of the Wood children. My parents attended Esther & Roy's funerals, we have the funeral folders. Esther May Harp was born 28 May 1892 in Decatur County, Iowa to Charles Harvey Harp and Junietta Acton Harp. No record in the courthouse. I find their records to be incomplete - they are handwritten entries in large books but no documents to go with them so will have to go to the state archives to get copies of actual birth and death records - another thing on my list for the next trip to Iowa. I currently live in Louisiana. According to Decatur Co Marriage Records Licence #5413 Vol. 10 page 62 which is on the Decatur Co site. Married June 28, 1909 in Leon by a JP John Holden. It says Roy was born in Lineville and his parents were W W Wood and Rosanna Cozad. Looking at census records Esther & Roy lived in Leon until at least 1930 - he died in Shenandoah so they may have moved there after that, to be closer to her youngest sister Helen Harp Alley. Roy worked a variety of jobs from the census records and I believe they were involved in helping run hotels that Charles Harvey and Junietta ran, especially after Junietta's death in 1912. I did find a copy of Roy's WWI draft record recently on Ancestry.com it says he was "tall, medium build, brown eyes and hair. It also said he was born in Morgan township (fartherst SE corner) and was self employed as a produce merchant dated Jan 5, 1917 Leon, IA I show them having 4 children all born in Decatur Co: Lillian "Irene" b 1 Dec 1909 -- d. 25 Oct 1977 Westminster, Orange Co. Cal I tracked Irene as a school teacher in Decatur Co & Leon untill 1939 on Decatur Co site. Aunt Kathleen rememberd she was a school teacher and said she married a man named Irwin L. Bathe and the SS death records support that. Charles Leroy b.30 Oct 1911 d.22 Apr 1991, Ventura CA He married Dorothy Hatfield (who is still living in California with her daughter Kathy) they had 3 children. Geraldine F ? was born about 1914 going on census records. My Aunt Kathleen said she married and divorced quite young and knew nothing else about her. I have yet to find her in any census records after 1930. Chester G 17 Oct 1915 d. 3 Apr 2003 Tempee Az This info came from SS & California death indexes. Aunt Kathleen remembered that "Chester moved to California when quite young and they never heard from him again" how true that is I dont know. I found out about Dorothy & Charles from a great granddaughter of Edna Harp's who lives not far from them in California. We have traded a lot of info for sister Edna. I have not been in touch with Dorothy Wood to get more of the story and hopefully pictures of the Wood family. My new "cousin" is supposed to give her a call but deaths in my family and hers have put things on hold for a whle. I know what Esther looked like but not Roy. Hopefully Dorothy will have the info we are looking for. I LOVE pictures and hope I can complete the Harp sisters familys and identify picutures from Leon in front of the various hotels they managed. Most of the digging came from Ancestry.com. I have not found their graves yet in the Leon Cemetery yet, time was limited my last trip there. SO I hope this helps do the Wood family resemble Roy's description?
