    3. On the 5 p.m. news they said a tornado ripped through Ringgold County this afternoon. We are in a tornado watch until 10 p.m. The rain keeps 'knocking out' the dish so I don't know if I can catch the 10 p.m. news. The news crew was supposed to be in Ringgold County, filming the damage. Here (Osceola, Clarke County), I was taking a nap with Sadie the mini-pin and Emma the kitten. There was a clap of thunder unlike any I've ever heard (and I'm not a spring chicken - lived through 2 tornadoes, too - one when I was about 4 and one when I was 15). The clap of thunder was like a triple one and sounded like it hit by the house. The mini-pin would have jumped 10 feet in the air but the ceiling isn't that high. The kitten burrowed under the covers. And we all huddled together when the still air whipped up into a frenzy. There's a cedar tree wind break on that side of the house and they were whipping around as was the elm tree by the bedroom window. Then it was instantly still and calm - which worried me more than the wind. If you've ever been through a tornado, you'd understand why a sudden still and calm raises the hairs on the back of your neck. The bedroom is on the 2nd story of the house. There wasn't time to get to the basement the way I move these days. But we're still here. Didn't see any 'flying' cows or wicked witches or a wizard. Still in Iowa. Sharon R. 3. Glad you are Ok Sharon, my sister and I were on the phone last night she is in Adair County and she said "I've got to go we're heading for the basement!" All was well there too, the sirens sounded in Creston too!
