Gary was a classmate of mine and really the only one with whom I have kept in touch over the years. I will be leaving Grinnell around 4:00 today to go to Leon for the visitation this evening and then will be attending the funeral tomorrow (10:30 a.m. at the Leon Methodist Church). I've written about it before but they had twin sons, Bob and Billy. Bob was killed in a car wreck a long time ago. After that Will wanted to get rid of a pair of child-size ice cream chairs and my dad took them and patched them up a bit. I've passed them on to my two great granddaughters of whom the elder is now a teener. I'm not just sure where the chairs will go now but I think I'll make it my business to find out. I don't believe ice cream chairs are 'in' any more. Bill did a great job, his wife Margaret did a great job and, although it happened after I left town, I believe Gary also did a good job.
