I am not quite sure how to respond to a list of emails, as I get this in list form, but hopefully it will go through. Thank you for all the suggestions for locating someone in the various cemeteries I asked about. Some places are not open on weekends, especially a holiday one, but I will try to call ahead and see what I can find out. And I will look for the building in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola. This is a great list. I knew someone would respond if I asked a question! To Donna in Oregon: I will contact you privately about getting in touch with your friend. Thanks! There are several places to get good tenderloins in Branson. The Branson Cafe downtown has good ones, also Rocky's downtown. Billy Gail's Restaurant on Hwy 265 just south of Hwy 76 also has good tenderloins. Billy Gail's is a hole in the wall place open for breakfast and lunch and is known for their "hubcap" size pancakes. (They lap over the plate!) They are fantastic. It is only a few mintues from our house in Stonebridge so we go there often. It's out west going toward Branson west just after Hwy 465. Try it sometime especially for breakfast. Oh, Granny's Buffet on Shepherd of the Hills Parkway also has good tenderloins. You see we have searched the area for them. Now they aren't the huge ones like we used to get at Millie's in Des Moines, but are good. We do have internet at our home there and can keep up with my e-mails and the Decatur website. Nancee - I was talking to Wendell's wife, Helen, yesterday. You remember her from years ago don't you when we were all young and first married?? I told her we were related - our great grandfathers brothers - she was surprised and said she would tell Wendell. I don't think Wendell knows that - he especially didn't when you were married to Ted and were all friends and socialized together. What a small world. Our Crees reunion we have in Decatur is just my first cousins (the grandchildren of Willis & Anna) and our families, but I'm sure if you would like to attend no one would object and you could meet some more relatives. Wendell and I are hosts at the next one in 2011. They are exactly the same age - Wendell's birthday is in March 1939 and Carl's is May 1939. You need to remind me how you are related to the Crees' - I know you have told me but have forgotten. Yes, we had a great family and a very close family. Our Grandmother Crees (Anna) just lived two houses down the street from Wendell and me growing up in Decatur so we always saw our cousins lots as everyone always gathered at Grandma's on Sunday's. We all have lots of fond memories and as you know we all get together every two years for a reunion at the community center in Decatur. I"m not sure if the Radio Shack in Osceola will be open on Memorial Day, but they offer a book for sale on locations of burials in Maple Hill Cemetery, burials up to 1996. I believe the book runs about $22. Hope this helps. She is the Township Clerk and can tell you where to find them in the cemetery. There is a building at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola where you can stop and ask for the directions to burials. Should be open on Memorial Day. You can also call the Decatur Co. Recorder's Office and find out who the Township clerks are for Grand River Cemetery (Richland Township) and Leon Cemetery (CenterTownship). You can then call the Clerks and find out where the burials are. County Recorder: 641-446-4322 These are all pretty large cemeteries, so I can see why you would need to know ahead of time. Nancee -------Original Message------- From: Sarah Hamilton Date: 05/10/10 13:22:26 To: iadecatu@rootsweb.com Subject: [IADECATU] cemetery help I will be visiting Clarke, Decatur, and Ringgold Counties over the Memorial Day weekend to visit cemeteries. I have been there before, and there are tombstones I am not able to find. Perhaps someone on this list who is familiar with the cemeteries can help me by telling me where in the cemetery I should look for the stone. In the Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, I want to find the stone of Farild and Donna Glazebrook. In the Leon Cemetery, I want to find the stones of Henry & Mariah C Quiett. In the Murray Cemetery, I want to find stones for Keith Glazebrook, and William P & Doris Glazebrook. I found an index that said what row they should be in, but was never able to locate them on my last trip. In the Grand River Cemetery, I want to find Mansel and Sylvia Brammer. It is said to be a flat stone. Can anyone help me with the location of any of these tombstones? Thanks very much! _________________________________________________________________ www.iagenweb.org/decatur ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to IADECATU-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
