My names, Thomas, Hollinger, Gammill, Galpin - Morgan Twp., Decatur Co. Donna Wyoming
My Roll Call: 1. James Harvey Summers (1826 - 1902), lived in Decatur Twp. in Decatur Co. Iowa from late 1850s to 1878. His first wife was Matilda Randall who died about 1859 in Decatur Co. His second wife was Melissa Calvin, who appears to have died after a short while. Little info about her. James' third wife was: 2.) Sarah Marian Hisey (1844 - 1900), married J. H. Summers on April 3rd, 1861. She was the mother of most of James' children. 3.) Alexander Hisey (1816 - 1903), was the father of Sarah. I do not know if his wife Mary Ann Dawthitt was still living when Alexander lived in Decatur Co. He later moved to Kansas to be with the rest of his family. -Mark Vernon Seattle, WA
There are other related families, but Terrie Ruth Turpin and Sherry Balow have many more details and I glean from them! Thanks for sharing so willingly! Gore, McGauhey, Davis, Evans: In the Terre Haute, Lamoni, and Davis City areas. As an FYI, some of the related families are McCutcheon, Cozad, and Butcher. Tried this earlier in the week, but it was rejected! Will try again...hope everyone's keeping warm!

George married #2 Naomi A. Wood in 1935. She is my kinswoman, daughter of John Wesley Wood and Mary L. Stapp of Decatur County. George's first wife was jennie Gertrude Trembly. The Piersols came from New Sewickley, Beaver Co., PA, as did my HINDS ancestors. My HINDS connections are several. 1. Sampson Hinds Sr. (1794-after 1860) m. Mary Piersol and their "likely" son Jacob Hinds married my kinswoman Mary Ann Bright in 1850 in Gallia Co., OH and then moved to Decatur Co., IA. Mary Ann was a daughter of Adam Bright and Sarah Headley. 2. Samuel H. Hinds (1844-1911), son of John Hinds and Elizabeth Mace, married my kinswoman Emeline Bright in 1866 and they lived in Woodland, Decatur Co., IA. She was a daughter of Jacob Bright and Maria F. Shields. 3. I also connect to George J. Hinds (1871-1938), son of Sampson Hinds Jr. and Julia Ann Ratikin. He married Elizabeth Oney and is buried in Lineville, Wayne Co., IA. All of these Hinds folks trace back to Beaver Co., PA. My HARRIS connection is via Alfred Riley Harris (1841-18??), son of Alfred Harris Sr. and Lavina -----. "Riley" married my kinswoman Margaret A. Bright in Decatur County sometime shortly before 1860 and they lived in Morgan Township before moving to Cherokee Co., KS in the 1870s, where his widow was still living as late as 1930. "Riley" was born in Putnam Co., IN. His known children were Simeon, Mary (possibly married a Mr. Lee ?), Claborne and Samuel. Does any of the above ring any bells? Rick
