    1. LIST ADMIN: PLEASE READ
    2. Please STOP the thread regarding FEMA and other POLITICAL items regarding the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina NOW. There have been requests for intervention both on and off list. We all know that the subject of Hurricane Katrina and the damage and the aftermath are on everyone's minds and hearts right now. We all know by now that everyone has their opinions and they aren't all the same. It is fine to express your sorrow and caring thoughts for the people who have been affected by the hurricane. Please keep your political opinions to off list discussions. THE PROBLEM IS NOT WITH YOUR OPINIONS but with the fact that this is a GENEALOGY list and therefore we are supposed to be discussing GENEALOGY. An off-topic subject is fine here and there as long as it isn't inflammatory and doesn't go on forever. This has become an inflammatory thread and so we need to stop now. Let's all get back to our Decatur County, Iowa genealogy. I know there are mailing lists out there for the specific subject of Hurricane Katrina. Thanks so much for your help with this matter. 3. sorry, connie, but in the interest of accuracy i think what the author said was that the new oreansians SHOULD take care of them selves, not "could".....btw, I just spent the last 4 days there with the 4th Infantry Division out of Ft. It's a real mess.....has to be seen to be believed.....mac ----- Original Message ----- From: Conni McDaniel Hall To: IADECATU-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, September 10, 2005 7:32 AM Subject: RE: Fw: [IADECATU] Off topic--but near and dear I noticed that no one "noticed" that a comment was made earlier on about FEMA and that those in New Orleans could take care of themselves and not burden the Iowa taxpayers. 3. Carla, I'm sorry to hear about your son's losses. I'm sure none of us realize how widespread the damage was from Katrina. Our thoughts and prayers are certainly with you. There are so many people opening their homes and giving of their time. Take care and let us know how everything works out. Jan
