History of Davis Co, Iowa 1882 Montery. The town of Montery, in this township, was laid off and surveyed Mar. 14, 1851 by J.W. Ellis, county surveyor, and is located on the NE qr. of the N.E. qr of sec 33, twp 68, R15, on land originally belonging to Daniel Moyer.
