This question is to anyone who has ordered and received Patent Records from the BLM or GLO office. My ancestors were awarded Military Bounty Land Warrants for their service to the United States during the War of 1812 and the Mexican War. Both of them ASSIGNED (sold for amount received) their Bounty Land Warrants. The assignees located and patented the land. The land was located in Gentry, Harrison, and Jackson County, MO., and Davis County, IA.. Now the question, would my ancestors be listed as the Warrantees on the Land Patent records that I could purchase from the BLM office at a cost of $15.25 per record? It is a very costly proposition, just to learn the Land Patent number!! I would need 5 Patent records. Thank you, Debbie
