He was born in VA/WVA in 1842 and married Elizabeth Jane FRENCH, daughter of Franklin Robinson FRENCH and Virginia Irwin, born 1838 in Jennings County, Indiana, in Grove Twp., Davis County, Ia., August 23, 1870, at the home of Franklin R. FRENCH. Both had been married before, she to Elijah KNAPP in 1856, he to unknown in (possibly) Pa., about 1860 to 1865. They are in the 1880, 1885 and 1895 Davis County censuses. David POWER and three children, Sarah E., born in Pa. in 1866, Joseph F., born in Davis County in 1867 or 1868, and Laura B., born in Davis County in 1868 or 1869, living in the household of Reuben Johnson, wife Martha E. and son Birt, in the 1870 Davis County census. On the FRENCH's, I have information going back to the early 1600's. Where does Franklin R. FRENCH fit into your lineage?
