I received the above from "Wanda M Stefanc" <wstefanc@upper-cumberland.net> which she got from ---------------------------- "DAVIS CO. DEATHS, a compilation by a genealogical society member, no name given. It is at Ottumwa Public Library in Ottumwa, IA. ST. CLAIR, T.L., b. 1808, d. 4/25/1868, bur. Jackson Cemetery, Salt Creek Twp." -------------------------- I believe the 'L' was an 'I' and I'm quite sure this is our Thomas Ives St Clair. Is there anyone out there who might be able to check that cemetary and see if the Gravestone is still there and if it is an "I". Both dates agree with my records. Does anyone know if there are any extant records for that cemetary and where it is located. Thomas was the father of Thirza St.Clair who married William Harrison Gandy on October 12, 1865 in Davis Co. and Sarah Savanna St.Clair who married Samuel Ellis Gandy on March 08, 1866 at Troy, Davis Co., Iowa. The Gandy's moved on west to Nebraska around 1875 and ended up in Broken Bow Nebraska in 1880's where Rachel Married my Great Grandfather Cincinnatus Graves in 1884. Any information at all will be appreciated. I do have a lot of info on the Gandy families clear back to Preston co, W VA that I would be willing to share. Not to uch on the St Clairs yet but it is growing. Also have Graves back to Thomas Graves of England.
